I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of four despatches of numbers & dates specified in the margin, on the subject of the relations between France & China.

I have read these despatches with interest and have caused copies of them to be communicated to the Foreign Office for the information of Earl Granville.
Copies of those which concern the Woosung have been sent to the Admiralty.
