as there is sleeping accommodation on board all the launches, and they would be no worse off than the crews of men-of-war who have to be at times away boat cruising for weeks.

The chief point is as to the armament the launches should carry. On a careful examination, the tabular form in the appendix will show the armament and Crew we recommend for each launch in time of War and during Peace. The launches will require to be strengthened and fitted to carry the proposed guns.

The force when complete will consist of 8 launches, in the aggregate 118 tons, carrying 2, 7 Pounder M.L.R.M. boat guns; and 6 Nordenfeldt Machine guns; with in time of war, a Crew |
