a copy of a letter from the Superintendent of the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company (Mr. Bullard)
in which it is stated that the Chinese Telegraph Administration have agreed to purchase from the private Company the telegraph line from Canton to Kow-wa,
and
Enclosed is a copy of a letter from the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company
at Kowloon, the opposite side of the mainland, which forms part of the Colony.
2. Should this arrangement be carried out, there will be occasion, I presume, for laying a submarine cable to Hongkong from Kow-wa.
