hit the special Police Ordinance under which the Police are pensioned is of later date than the minute of 1862, and it could hardly have been intended that a man should enjoy a special gratuity on resigning the Police and then enter Civil Service, in respect of which the gratuity had already been awarded, towards ordinary pension.
