Lord Derby of meddling interference. Also, if he had read the Preface of Lord Granville's Work, which he quotes, & which is annexed for reference, he would have remembered that the Secretary of State is responsible for his own

despatches, and would probably not have seen that the tone of his remarks (as to inadvertence of the writer" etc.) in the red ink note on f. 18, is exceedingly improper & hardly courteous to Lord Derby.
