I believe that in the future The Hong Kong Observatory will more than pay its expenses in the property which will be saved from time to time by timely weather warnings. It is difficult to predict the daily weather with certainty but with a good system of Meteorological Stations in frequent telegraphic communication the approach of a typhoon can be foretold many hours previously.
