also forward the Estimates of the Revenue and Expenditure of the year 1884, together with the usual financial statement, and an explanatory report by the Colonial Secretary and Auditor General.
The said Estimates, which have been laid before the Legislative Council.
It will be seen by the Estimates that the excess of Revenue over Expenditure has been estimated at only $18,000. No provision has, however, been inserted in the Estimates of Revenue for income from land sales which would easily yield some $40,000 to $50,000 in addition to the Estimated Revenue.
Care has been taken in accordance with recent instructions to distinguish in these Estimates all sums paid to public servants as personal allowances from the salaries attached to their substantive appointments.
