(4. 43 1# might be made a rather firm term of the Trust Deed that in the event of the Trustees having to act on the proviso the amount of the Building Grant should from that date become a debt 'due to the Government, bearing interest at 5% and repayable in 5 years. It seems to me that this latter clause will remove any possible objection to my prayer being granted.)
(12) I would further beg of His Lordship to reconsider the amount of the proposed frank, too small as compared with the value of the property to be assigned over, on return. I would ask for $10,000 and I venture to submit that considering how much the Catholic Church in Hong Kong has done during the last 30 years, and is still doing, for education in Hong Kong, without any aid from Government, this amount will not be considered excessive.
