With regard to Bishop Raimondi's second request, viz, that the Grant in aid of the building fund of St. Joseph's College should be increased from $5,000, as sanctioned by Your Lordship, to $10,000, I do not recommend compliance with it. The sum asked for is more than half of the cost of the building and site (#7200), which, as is observed in the despatch under reply, is fixed by the code as the maximum sum to be allowed in any case.
