It will be further
perceived that in again urging
the
- insertion of a "Conscience Clause",
which he considers vitally important, Bishop Raimondi now offers an additional condition, to the effect
that, in the event of the Trustees
having to act on the proposed proviso enabling them to withdraw St. Joseph's College from the operation of the
Grant-in-aid scheme for conscientious reasons, "the amount of the building
grant should from that date become "a debt due to the Government bearing interest at 5 per cent and repayable "within five years"
