for Your Lordship's favourable consideration, the enclosed letter praying for a reconsideration of the decision conveyed by Your despatch 1985 of the 7th May ultimo, on the subject of his application for a building grant, in aid of the new St Joseph's College. I annex a letter on the same subject from Mr Bateson Wright, the Acting Inspector of schools.
2. The two points of which Bishop Raimondi urged reconsideration are:-
(1) The refusal of his request to have "Conscience Clause" inserted in the Trust Deed; and,
(2.) The amount of the contribution in aid of the Building Fund of St Joseph's College, which Your Lordship has authorized me to offer him, viz, five thousand dollars, ($5,000).
With regard to the former point, the Bishop represents that a building which is now estimated to be worth forty thousand dollars ($40,000) will be transferred to
