lazaretto which you have decided to build on Stonecutter's Island, I presume that you have had before you the correspondence with the War Office, which was forwarded in my predecessor's desp. no. 39 of the 17th of March 1882, as to the probable future use of that island for purposes of fortification, and that you have satisfied yourself that the lazaretto will not be objectionable on that score.

3. I request you to forward to me the proposed plan of the future buildings together with a trace showing the position of the site which they will occupy on the island.
