It is intended to have an iron balcony gallery running off from the lobbies of the Lecture-Hall, with rooms arranged on each side.
The Class-rooms are arranged such that each large class-room opens into four smaller rooms on the four sides of the hall at a level corresponding with that of the upper floor.
The large central Entrance door to the Lecture Hall is shown in the Southern Elevation, and is intended for special occasions such as public Prize-day when a large number of guests assemble.
Leading from the Class-rooms are glass doors to enable the European teacher to supervise the Chinese Assistant teachers.

In this storey, the general arrangement of class rooms is the same as that in the lower floor, the sole difference being that a large portion of the East wing is devoted to the offices.
