In Cyprus where in consequence of a Parliamentary grant all the accounts, duly audited on the spot, had to be afterward transmitted to the Exchequer and Audit Department, Somerset House, the system which I propose to introduce was in force and amongst the numerous references and queries which I received from the Comptroller and Auditor General not one referred in any way to the existence of post-audit instead of a pre-audit.
