Carrying out the arrangement suggested in my despatch of the 21st last March.
1.2. I have carefully considered the arguments set forth in your despatch in favour of the appointment of a military adjutant but I am not satisfied that this appointment is required and that the proposals made in my former despatch will not adequately meet the case.
3. Mr. Honspool in his letter of the 5th May refuses the terms which have been offered to him. He asks that his pay, which is at present £1440 per annum, may be increased together with a command allowance.
