My present term of service will not expire until May of next year, and I am now asked to consent to a re-engagement at that distant date, with practically no real increase of pay, it having been decided that "overseas service allowances to Police officers cannot be allowed to count towards increment of pension."

3. I am pleased with the acknowledgement by the Secretary of State, that he considers I am fairly entitled to an increase of pay, but I feel that that increase I cannot conscientiously accept on this condition.

My present salary is only $1440 per annum, while the Clerk in this Department receives $1,920 per annum. I complete sixteen years of service in the Force today, and I have not received an increase of pay for upwards of eight years.
