Result, I submit, a striking illustration of this - two points in our national Character both in the Mother-country and in the Colonies: - (1) The general disposition of Englishmen to remove anomalies in old Institutions, when practical inconvenience has been proved. (2) The general confidence which a favourable experience of several generations has induced Englishmen to repose in the Law and in the professional administrators of the Law.
