be dealt with leniently.
I can only say that I have spoken the whole truth
on the subject. The assault I admit to having so far forgotten myself as to have committed
it. But sir, as to the abusive
language and threats with
which the prisoner accuses me
of, I do entirely deny as being false and malicious. I beg
therefore that all things may
be fully taken into consideration and that this defence may be
looked upon favourably.
