of 5 feet, and a similar survey of Stonecutter East is now well advanced. We have good surveys, with contours at 10 feet intervals, of the ground round North Point and Kowloon Dock Batteries. Belcher's Point has still to be surveyed, but this could be done in the same way as the others.
The sites of the Batteries, existing or proposed, already belong to the War Department, with the exception of Quarry Point and Stonecutter Central, which belong to the Colonial Government, especially at Belcher's Point where the site is very restricted.*
* This point is East of Belcher's Bay.
But in all cases, it would be desirable that the ground adjoining these sites should not pass out of the hands of the Government without reference to the military Authorities.
