Educational. The Normal School was established in the later part of 1881
and about $2000 increase in Grant-in-aid to Public schools in 1882. Medizinb. Increase in provisions, Reading and Incidental expenses - Also Contingencies for the Health Officer's Steam Launch.
Police. Increase in salaries of Staff & Force - Govt. One additional European Constable, 43 Asst Constables were employed from 14 April 1882 -
Increase also in the items of Fuel, Soap & Incidental expenses.
Fire Brigade. A large & protracted fire in a Merchants' Go down occurred in 1882. - Purchase of new hose, repairs to engine, Pension - Pension to Sir John Pope Hennessy, and increase in number of Police Pensioners
Works & Buildings - New Water Police Station, Observatory & Time Ball, and the extension of water works, caused the increase.
Roads, Street, Bridges. A supplementary vote was obtained for the items Roads & street Contingencies.
Prison Services. Increase in the number of street Camps, camp furniture for Govt. House, expenses incurred for Photos: in connection with the reception of the Prince
Land House Purchased. Five Chinese Shops in Sheak-tong-tsui purchased.
