In the meantime the House of Commons has condemned such compulsion and requested the Governor to consider whether it can be abolished. S. 7520. It is clear that if it is abolished the ordinance must be entirely recast.
In the meantime we must wait for a reply from the Imperial Government. This waiting will have the advantage of enabling us to see what measures will be taken by the Imperial Parliament in view of the recent vote.
