13. Police Station at Hung Ham Haw. This is to speak more correctly a yard house rather than a Police Station. The village has so increased in population and importance of late years that it has become very necessary to afford greater accommodation to the police, some of whom have now to live outside in the village. The Captain Superintendent recommends the addition of two rooms so as to admit an increased number of men being quartered there, in which recommendation I entirely concur. A proper ablution room, kitchens, and out-offices should also be built. The cost of these works will be $2800. So far, the health of the inmates of the house has been reported good, but they must experience much discomfort from the absence of proper out-offices.
