new building would be comparatively small, occupying a width of about 110 feet, it will not be difficult to fix a site among the several strips of vacant land along the Bonham Road.
The size of the new station is designed to accommodate 10 European and 8 Indian Constables, and 1 Inspector, and would cost about $9,500. This outlay I am of opinion may be recouped by the sale of the old station.
13. No. 1 Police Station on Glenealy Road. This building, like No. 1 Station, is properly speaking no police station at all, but a small lodging house for married European Constables. It is very small and badly designed and could not even be rebuilt with any satisfactory result, unless the frontages were extended by acquiring an adjacent piece of ground from the adjoining property which belongs to Messrs. Birley and Company.
