required. This plan will relieve the congestion in the present barracks to the
extent
of giving each man quartered in them, 100 superficial feet and 1500 cubic feet, while the same amount
of space will be provided in the proposed new block, these figures being the allotment recommended by the Indian Sanitary Commission on subtropical barracks. The cost of the new block will be about $75,000.
