(b) should this application be approved, he will receive half pay during his absence and a return passage to the Colony. At the expiration of each term of 5 years' service, a sum equal to three months' pay of his rank will be given by way of bonus on his return.
(c) On his return, he shall be reinstated in his relative position in the Force and he will be sworn in for a further period of service.
8. Should he desire to remain in the Colony, he shall receive a pension after 15 years of service. A change was recommended in my dispatch No. 292 of 18th March 1882.
9. On the expiration of 15 years' service, he becomes entitled to a gratuitous pension at the rate of 1/4 + 1/320 of his average pay for the last three years for every complete year of service after 15 years, according to such qualifying rates as may from time to time be bound by regulations with the Government.
