My
Report the large increase over
previous years will be at once observed.
This large increase has been steadily
maintained to the present time and up to the present I have no reason to doubt it will be kept up for the future. The Amount of Money and property under the Registrar's Control still increases and
now reaches a total of $566,302 - This
1
with a
total of $
152,038
compared to January 1891 (See Schedule, I.J.K. and I of My report) or $199,369 in March last year when Mr. Ackroyd took
charge, shows a
very
surprising
increase.
The income of the trust is now more than
sufficient for payment of the whole of The Stamp $18,720 and would have contributed each year $2,220 towards other
incidental expenses such as cost of
Registrar, etc. The amount received had all been paid unto the Government from
the commencement of the year
of the Year. The cost
from 1873
to 1881 inclusive as shown at
p. d. of My report amounted to $65,454.58 or on an average during those years to
$7,273.73 per annum.
The Government should therefore, notwithstanding the recent
increase in Salaries have realized nearly
$10,000
