I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that upon the arrival of His Excellency Sir George Bowen as Governor to this Colony it became necessary to fill up the acting appointment of Registrar General, and it was given to the outgoing acting Colonial Secretary Mr Stewart. No other name was mentioned to me.
