Jam advised that Hong Kong comes within the scope of these Acts and that in as much as I have served under articles and been admitted and enrolled a Solicitor in the Colony and practised there as such for more than seven years, having previously passed an examination, I am entitled to be admitted a Solicitor in England.

I would therefore respectfully ask of His Excellency to be good enough, pursuant to the provision in that behalf in the first mentioned Act, to forward to the Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies an application for an order in Council bringing Hong Kong within the operation of the Act. Singapore and other British Colonies have already, I believe, been brought within the operation of the Act in question.
