and charcoal in preparing it, such price shall be paid and settled at the beginning of each month.
It is settled (agreed) amongst the four shops (that is to say) the Took Loong Lai Yuen, Sew Loong Tai, Loong Yuen, and Man Wo Foong Found that the stock of prepared opium shall be 200,000 Taels weight each shop prepare and have a stock at a fixed quantity of 50,000 Taels weight. This Company shall see that each shop has that quantity of stock although one shop might happen to dispose of a portion of its stock so as to accommodate customers but all the prepared opium shall be sold at the (uniform) price and customers may buy from any (of the said) shop they prefer.
No private discount or amendment on the prime cost shall be permitted nor adulterated (prepared opium) from other shops be allowed to be sold at reduced price.
16.
In case the four shops Fook Loong Lai, Sew Loong Tai, Loong Yuen, and Man Wo Foong shall desire to increase or reduce the price of prepared opium they shall notify their intention at a month beforehand. The Majority at the meeting (of shareholders) shall decide and if allowed the same shall be in force from the ensuing month.
The Company shall consist of Directors, namely, Van Chun Wai and others, and Duros Esq.
