10 'w's shares and the money for labor, opium skins and charcoal is fixed to be paid once in every three months.
Article 11th The quantity of opium to be prepared and boiled by the Seven shops shall be according to demands of the Golden Ports (Australia and California) as advised by the Hop Li and Hop Fuk Companies. When orders for prepared opium of such a chop be required by the Sun I' Company, opium should at once be boiled and sent on as per her order, but if the Managing Heads in the Golden Countries should differ in opinions (as to the quantity of each chop to be sent) and each of them would adhere to his own opinion (for which of course nothing could be done), then the question as to the quantity of prepared opium of such and such a chop shall be publicly decided by the Managing Heads at a meeting held at Hong Kong for the purpose.
Article 12th It is agreed that all prepared Opium remaining unsold in the Golden Countries (Australia and California) previous to amalgamation (of the two Companies, Chap Shing and Yan Wo) shall be taken over by the Hop Fuk and Hop Li Companies at the price... The concealment of prepared opium will not be allowed. If any quantity of prepared opium be found concealed instead of being delivered up to the Hop Fuk and Hop Li Companies, the same shall be valued at cost price and the proceeds of which shall be paid into the Coffers of the Sun I Company, which may be served as a warning to the parties concerned.
Article 13th It is hereby fixed that when crude opium be delivered to the different shops to be boiled, the opium purchased at the auction sale in India first should be 3/10 of the old Patna opium and 7/10 of the new Patna opium; the second time should be 2/10 of the old Patna opium and 8/10 of the new Patna opium; the third time should be old Patna opium 6/10 and new Patna opium 4/10; the fourth time 5/10 of old and new Patna each; the fifth time should be 4/10 of old Patna opium and 6/10 of new Patna opium; the 6th time should be ... of old Patna and ... of new Patna opium and from the ...
