And into the Mitzu Bishi Steamers the opium was instructed for California – The French Steamers took the Opium to Colombo, whence it was sent to Australian Ports and the Mitzu Bishi Steamers on arrival at Yokohama transhipped their quota into the S.S. Line of steamer, which left here every fortnight for America regularly and which were made to connect with the Mitzu Bishi at Yokohama.

The overtures were successful, and in breach of agreement the Yau wo company left the Man-ho ting chops and amalgamated with the Man-for-Ferry. The new combination was called the Man to Sang.

The Articles of Agreement are dated 9th March 1880, but the matter was settled before then.
