You will have learnt from my telegram of the 3rd inst. that I approve of Mr Callumé's appointment, and that his salary being such as are specified in Mr Marsh's despatch: Mr Callumé should however be neither allowed nor called upon to do any work as ordinary rule except that entailed upon him by his sanitary office.
