He was my pupil in chemistry.

Since April 1, 1882.

5. What have been the places of his education?

This is a matter outside my knowledge.

6. How has he been employed since his education was completed?

He worked at practical chemistry under me patiently, perseveringly, intelligently.

7. If he has been employed under you, will you state the nature of his duties, and how he discharged them?

He was my pupil in my chemistry class daily for ten months. He worked to my entire satisfaction.

8. Is he strictly honest?

Yes, unquestionably.

9. What has been the state of his health since you have known him?

Very good.

10. Do you believe him to be free from pecuniary embarrassments?

Yes

Are you well acquainted with him?

Pretty well.

Is he sober?

Yes
