new Cemetery Your petitioners removed
the remains laid
to it, as many as
they had the power.
That there are still the remains
of three bodies. Owing to the length of
time since their interment now about
thirty and more years, your petitioners
have been unable to trace their relations.
That Your petitioners have long felt
the great want of a place of worship
to hold their annual festival known as
The Moharrum,
for
which
purpose they
find the mosque inadequate.
That
Your petitioners need not point
out to Your Excellency that in all countries particularly those in India where the benign British rule is dominant, it has been an invariable custom for the Government to grant land or ground free of all, or, if any, at a nominal charge to every
section of the Community for such purpose.
