Amendment Ordinance 1883.I have not given my assent to this Ordinance as I thought it better to defer doing so until Her Majesty's pleasure had been signified thereon.

granted many years before to the Mussulman community for the purposes of a Cemetery. In 1867 by Governor's warrant of 26th June, 1867, an agreement with the grantees was made, which was fully reported at the time (9th October, 1867).

cemetery was closed and another piece of ground was given in exchange, Government contributing at the same time a sum of $2000 for the expense of preparing the new site and of removing tombs thither.

This Ordinance has been introduced on the recommendation of Executive Council, to remove any doubt as to the right of re-entry by Government on a piece of ground that had been granted.
