I would desire further to draw attention to the following letter on the subject of Price Remittances, and to an extract of the terms on which application is made for the emolument of Constables in England.

"that a dispatch has been received from The Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies in which His Lordship, referring

"to the case of the Police as affected by the low rate of exchange than was

"with special regard to the case of those who were sent out in 1864, and

"that His Lordship decided on allowing the servants of the Government to draw part

of their salaries at home under certain conditions at the par of 4/1⁄2, without
