up to the present time I have risen from 3rd to 2nd Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office which increased my annual Salary by £20 only. During His Excellency Sir William Robinson's and Sir W. Des Vœux's Administrations
I acted as his Private Secretary and
I was led to believe that he was
perfectly satisfied with me. On the 17th of April last His Excellency (the Officer Administering the Government) very kindly offered me the post of Private Secretary which I accepted
and I sincerely hope that he is
satisfied
with the manner in which I have
performed my duties and that he will
recommend my application to the
favourable consideration of the Right
Honourable the Secretary of
State for the Colonies.
I have, &c.
(Signed) Arthur D. Travers
2nd Clerk
