I have been nearly 16 years in the Force, was appointed Acting Chief Inspector in March 1873, which appointment was confirmed by Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies in March 1879.

I have held the responsible appointment of Deputy Superintendent for 2 years since April 1880, and have had the honour of Commanding the Force as Acting Captain Superintendent on several occasions.
