"to consolidate and amend the law relating to distraints for rent!"
The Attorney General's report thereon is also forwarded. This Ordinance has been passed to carry out a recommendation made by Mr Justice Snowden and also by the Commission which reported in 1879 upon the Supreme Court that all such distraints should be made by an Officer of the Supreme Court. This recommendation was approved by Lord Kimberley on 4th January 1882. The Ordinance is passed with a suspending clause but will be put in force by Proclamation as soon as the necessary arrangements for carrying out its provisions have been made by the Registrar.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Your Lordship's Most Obedient Humble Servant,
Administering the Government.
