Omissions done in the discharge of these duties are defined in Sections 6 and 7 and a special power of dealing summarily with officers guilty of misconduct is given by Section 10.

The Ordinance repeals the Sheriff's Ordinance of 1873 and substitutes "Bailiff" for "Sheriff" in a number of enactments in which reference is made to the office of Sheriff.

Report on Ordinance No. 22 of 1882.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance being "An Ordinance entitled 'The Criminal Procedure Ordinance, 1882'" and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.

This Ordinance makes certain amendments in the Criminal Procedure Ordinance 1865 rendered necessary in connection with the abolition of the office of Sheriff effected by Ordinance No. 22 of 1882.
