Extracts from Minutes of the Finance Committee of August, 1882-
The Committee then proceeded to consider an application from the Honourable P. RYRIE, acting as President of the Hongkong Humane Society, for a grant of $250 to the Society.
In consideration of the valuable services always rendered by the Members of the Society to the Harbour Population during stormy weather, the Committee recommend that the sum applied for be granted to the Society.
