made under Section 6 of Ordinance

10 of 1859.

Any prisoner undergoing

a sentence of penal

servitude

may

be employed outside the Prison Walls

on any public works in Victoria

I have asked for

a

copy of the rules in force in the Straits Settlements for the guidance of those in charge of prisoners

employed

employed outside the Prison Walls, and rules will be prepared without

delay, applicable to the circumstances of this Colony
