I have the honor to acknowledge. Mr. Bramaton's

letters of August 29 and September / with Enclosures on the subject of the Hong Kong Obserwatory, the reply to

which has been delayed by my absence.

As regards the list of actronomical instruments submitted by Mr Price, it seems to me well suited to the requirements of the Hong Kong Obcewatory, and the prices are reasonable. I would suggest that the two chronometers be sent to this

Observatory to be tested before purchase, in the case of Chronometer for the Navy.
