gistered at the commencement of this Act, or being entitled at the commencement of this Act to be registered are subsequently registered, and all persons who are regis- tered in respect of qualifying certificates granted under this Act, or of diplomas granted after the commencement 5 of this Act by the medical authorities of any part of the United Kingdom; and
(5.) Contain in a separate alphabetical list all such colonial practitioners as are registered in pursuance of this Act; and

(e) Contain in a separate alphabetical list all such foreign
practitioners as are registered in pursuance of this Act. (2.) The medical register shall contain the said lists made out alphabetically according to the surnames, and shall state the full names and addresses of the registered persons, the description and 15 year of the qualifying certificates and the medical diplomas in respect of which they are registered, and, subject to the provisions of this Act, shall contain such particulars and be in such form as is specified in the third schedule to this Act, or as the General Medical Council from time to time direct.
(3.) The registration fee shall be such fee, not exceeding five pounds, as the General Medical Council from time to time fix.

(4.) The General Medical Council shall cause a correct copy of the medical register to be from time to time and at least once a year printed under their direction, and published and sold; and such 25 copy shall be deemed to be the copy of the medical register referred
21 & 22 Vict. to in section twenty-seven of the Medical Act, 1858. c. 90.
(5.) The medical register shall be deemed to be in proper custody when in the custody of the medical registrar, and shall be of such a public nature as to be admissible as evidence of all matters therein 30 on its mere production from that custody.
(6.) The local registrars for England, Scotland, and Ireland respectively shall keep local registers in such form and manner, and shall perform such duties in relation to registration under this Act as the General Medical Council from time to time order, and, so far 35 as regards those duties, shall, subject to the orders of the General Medical Council, be deemed to be included in this Act under the expression "medical registrar." They shall receive out of the registration fees such remuneration as the branch councils for England, Scotland, and Ireland respectively, with the consent of 40 the General Medical Council, from time to time think proper, not being less in the case of registrars holding office at the passing of this Act than the average amount of remuneration received by them before the passing of this Act.

(7.) The General Medical Council shall from time to time make, A.D). 1879. and when made, revoke and vary orders-
(a.) for the registration in a separate column of the medical
register (on payment of the foe fixed by the orders) and the removal from the medical register, of any additional diplomas held by a person registered therein, which appear to the Council or to the Privy Council on appeal to be granted after examination by any of the medical autho- rities in respect of a substantially higher degree of know- ledge than is required to obtain a qualifying certificate under this Act, or which have been granted by any of the medical authorities as testimonials of special distinction, and appear to the General Medical Council, or, in case of appeal, to the Privy Council, to deserve recognition as higher medical diplomas in the medical register; and (b.) for carrying into effect the provisions of the Medical Acts
1858 to 1879 with respect to the registers;
and every registrar shall in all respects, in the execution of his discretion and duty in relation to any register, conform to such orders, and to any special directions given by the General Medical Council.
(8.) Any medical authority who feel aggrieved by any order made by the General Medical Council in relation to the registration of any such additional diplomas as above mentioned may appeal to 25 the Privy Council, and the Privy Council, after communication with the General Medical Council, may make such order in the matter as they think just, and such order shall be duly obeyed.
11. (1.) The medical registrar shall from time to time insert in Correction the medical register any alteration which may come to his know. of medical

(2.) The medical registrar shall erase from the medical register the name of every deceased person.
(3.) The medical registrar may erase from the medical register the name of a person who has ceased to practise, but not (save as herein- 35 after provided) without the consent of that person; and the medical registrar may send by post to a person registered in the medical register a notice inquiring whether or not he has ceased to practise or has changed his residence; and if the registrar does not, within three months after sending the notice, receive any answer thereto
40 from the said person, he may, within fourteen days after the ex- piration of the three months, send him by post in a registered letter another notice, referring to the first notice, and stating that no answer thereto has been received by the registrar; and if the
