Adverting to my letter to June 1882, wherein I promised ou completion of the drawings of the masonry Dave, to furnish au Estimate of the bement that would be required. I have now the honor tostate "that Ywenty thousand barrels of Portland Cement, will be the minimum quantity to be peut out to the Colony.

2. Iwould recommend that the shipments of these twenty thousand barrels should be spread over two years at the average rate of two thousand five hundred barrels every three months, subject to such modifications in the rate of supply as you yourselves may hereafter determine upon receipt of periodical telegraphic advices from the Colony "progress of the Works.

3. the trade barrel as you tains 400 lbs of fement, and its price pist now would vary from 7 phillings to 7 shillings and twopence . The flight via the Sucz Caual to Hong Kong will be about 6 shillings per barrel making an approximate total cost of £ 13,000 for the twenty thousand barels
