1986年。
該酒店在淪陷時期曾易名為東京酒
店。
1950年代，酒店右下方有著名的仙
掌夜總會，稍後亦有一家甘露夜總會於
左下方開設。

左方為菲林明道。可見剛落成的合和中心，左方有
Mido廣告牌的廣興大廈，稍後連同其右鄰多幢
新舊樓宇，被改建為大新金融中心。前方地段曾於
1970年起舉辦數屆工展會，後於
1980年代起陸續
興建包括華潤大廈、中環廣場、香港會議展覽中心及入境事務大樓等建築物。

繭言
東區考察遊一般分作兩段．第一段由天后
廟起步，了解天后廟的典故，以及銅鑼灣地名
及其別名的源由，又可了解天后山和天后廟道
的開闢過程。
之後在銀幕街回癲早期的電影製片廠，還
有
1
930年代在這區域夷山開闢英皇道的歷史。
其後，步入早期電車路經的電氣道，探討
1
920年代設於此區的包括化妝品、食品、製樽
製罐廠、汽水廠以及油庫等設施。當中最大規
模者是
l922年由灣仔遷至此的發電廠。
由發電廠旁的大強街返回英皇道，可瀏覽
皇都戲院和懷緬昔日小上海的繁榮，小上海區
的建設始於
1940年代後。在此區可了解早期的
遊樂場「名園」，和戰後的「月園」，還有附近的
夜總會、戲院、「海派」食肆、百貨公司、時裝
店和理髮店等。
北角區其中一個偉大建築是位於糖水道丶
英皇道與書局街之間的商務印書館，為
1930年
代該區最宏大的機構。其背後的渣華道則有落
成於
1
957年，被稱為「闊佬廉租屋」的北角邨。
此段考察遊的終點在書局街口的新光戲院。
第二段考察遊的起步點，是原來由中華巴
士車廠改建的港運城，經過原為電車公司宿舍
的健威花園住宅大廈，再步往早期的「七姊妹泳
場區」。
迄至
1930年代中，這一帶的筲箕灣道（英
皇道）電車路是單軌者，設有「避車處」以供「對
頭車」通過。
健康村迄至鰂魚涌一帶，早期為若干座禾
田農舍的村落，對出的海旁則為設有多座泳場
棚屋的七姊妹泳場和海灘。其中，最著名的是
於
1
940年開業的麗池游泳場，多屆香港小姐選
舉均在其舞廳舉辦。「麗池」對面的山腰上有一
座二伯公廟，早期有大量塘西等地的風麈女子
前往膜拜。
之後，是太古洋行「王國」，包括糖廠、漆
廠、船塢及員工宿舍，現時已變為太古坊、太
古城、康怡花園及康山花園等商住樓宇羣，部
分宿舍則改建為海景樓、益發大廈以及太安樓
等住宅。
路線六東區考察遊

從西灣河往前走，可試試尋找昔日包括長
樂、金星及永華等戲院的原址，踏入稱為「餓人
灣」之地，並在興民街與南安街一帶，懷緬昔日
筲箕型的海灣，以及早期前往鯉魚門、三家村
及茶果嶺之利安小輪碼頭。
接着，前往望隆街、工廠街及金華街，了
解早期的著名工廠，然後到訪譚公廟和天后廟。
考察完畢，可在筲箕灣東大街一帶的食肆品嚐
魚蛋粉麵、焗豬扒飯及石斑片炒河等美食。

consists of two sections. For the first section, the
starting point is at Tin Hau. Participants should
seek oul Lales, Lidbits and lores aboul Lhe area,
ils nomenclalure and examine Lhe orig ins and
development of Tin Hau Temple and the surrounding
hilly area, i.e. 1'la Shan.
Visitors can check out the histo11' of film making
in Ngan Mok Slreel area and f'ind oul as much as
possible about Lhe opening up and dcvclopmenl of
IGng's Road, which was originally parl of Shaul<ciwan
Road. Thal parl of King's Road was renamed as
such in 1935 in honour of Lhe Silver Jubilee of'King
George V's reig11.
Then proceed along Electric Road utilised
by the early tramways. The area is rich in heritage
and one can explore Lhe nalure of Lhe many trades
and mini industries established in Lhe 1920's, e.g.
cosmetics, aerated drinks bollling plants, eateries

Enlering cenlering King's Road via Power
Street, one can browse around the State Theatre
complex and reminisce aboul Lhe origins and
different facets of "Little Shanghai" which had
ils origins in Lhe lale 1940's. Visilors can search

eslablishmcnls, e.g. Ming Yuen and Yuel Yuen,
shopping malls, Shanghai-slyle reslauranls, beauly
parlous, barber shops and區hion

'Theatre.
