19.--In my event your Memorialists respectfully suggest that it would be easy in future dealings with the Peninsula to leave ample space for the laying of the line and building the ne- cessary terminus without interfering with the lots already sold.
20.-Finally your Memorialists respectfully claim to be met by the Government in the same spirit which they have displayed in dealing with the Government, and they submit that having done so much at a heavy cost to themselves to convert a useless and unhealthy outlying depen- dency into a comparatively prosperous and salubrious suburb (although much more it is admitted remains to be done), they are equitably entitled to protection at the hands of the Government from the heavy losses they would sustain should the prayer of this Memorial be altogether rejected.
Your Memorialists therefore pray :-
That the Garden lor leases they now hold may be cancelled, and that in lieu thereof there may be granted to them Farm or Rural Building lenses for seventy-five years containing
similar terns provisoes and covenauts as those is lenses of Crown Land at the Peak.
