Reference my letter of the 5th October enclosing an application for sponsor passage on behalf of Captain F. Miners, who was to be employed as Wharf

The Manager at Shanghai by Messrs. Alfred Holt & Co. Company has now informed us that Captain Miners will not be available to proceed to Shanghai at present and We are asked to substitute the name of Captain D. MacAdam It will not be possible for Captain MacAdam to leave this country before the end of November.

Messrs. A. Holt & Co. also state that their present Wharf Engineer who has been released from internment, has volunteered to remain on and get the plant ready for overhaul. They now wish to send Mr. G. Hackston to relieve him as soon as possible. -----I, therefore, enclose particulars of these applications
