Your telegram No. 1124. F 7678/1147./10

Morrison has left for Hong Kong. We are in communication with [grp. undec.? Minister for the Colonies] about Martin.

2. Li wishes to go but has wife, child and 2 [grp. undec.

? other] dependents whom he cannot support in Chungking on salary offered. If they can be got to Canton they hope to be self supporting. [Grp. undec. ? I suggest] that they be flown by R.A.F. to Hong

Kong on the understanding that the dependents will leave for Canton immediately [3 grps. undec.] desired. His wife was Ryan's assistant camp overseer at Hong Kong [grp. undec.] camp and might be useful to Hong Kong authorities. Li also enquires whether cost of living bonus is payable on salary offered.
