In connection with recruitment of urgently needed staff for Hong Kong Colonial Office have certain candidates in Chungking and would appreciate your help in arranging appointments and journey to destinations. Appointments are subject to (a) security vetting, (b) physical fitness. Colonial Office would be grateful if you would, after having satisfied yourself that there is no objection on security grounds, offer temporary employment in the capacity and with salary as indicated against their names, and arrange medical examination. If candidates accept and are fit they would be required to be vaccinated if this has not been done within the last two years and given T.A.B. inoculation. When these formalities complied with passage by quickest route will be required to destination cost of which will fall upon War Office funds.
